U.S. Senate Unanimously Passes Sen. Kelly’s Bipartisan Resolution Recognizing Older Americans

Today, Arizona Senator and member of the Senate Special Committee on Aging Mark Kelly issued this statement following the unanimous passage of his bipartisan resolution declaring the month of May “Older Americans Month.” The resolution recognizes the hard work and contributions of older Americans and Arizonans.

“This month we all recognize the hard work and invaluable contributions that seniors make to our state and our country. It’s why I’ve worked with to bring down the cost of prescription drugs and introduced legislation to ensure older Americans have access to the services and resources needed as they age. I’ll continue working on solutions that support older Americans after a lifetime of work. They have earned it,” said Senator Kelly, a member of the Senate Special Committee on Aging.

Since taking office, Kelly has championed efforts to ensure older Americans can retire with dignity and keep more of their hard-earned money in their pockets like securing a deal to lower rising prescription drug costs and introducing legislation to strengthen critical programs that support a healthy and secure retirement.

The resolution was led by Kelly and co-sponsored by Senators Mike Braun (R-IN), Bob Casey (D-PA), Tim Scott (R-SC), Rick Scott (R-FL), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Jacky Rosen (D-NV).
