Senator Kelly Announces $10 Million+ Back in the Pockets of Arizonans in First Year
Today, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly announced that his constituent services team has returned more than $10,000,000 to the people of Arizona in his first year in office.
Over the past twelve months, Senator Kelly’s constituent services staff have closed more than 4,000 constituent cases and returned more than $10 million to Arizona taxpayers by cutting through red tape and getting them the benefits or payments they were owed by the federal government.
“Serving Arizonans in the U.S. Senate is especially rewarding when my team is able to help constituents cut through Washington’s bureaucracy to get what they need, whether it is securing a federal loan or tracing a tax return. As we celebrate this milestone of $10 million dollars returned, I want Arizonans to know that we are here to serve them. I encourage anyone who needs assistance to reach out to my office,” said Senator Kelly.
Kelly’s staff has assisted Arizonans with issues relating to the ongoing public health crisis and have been in constant contact with constituents to ensure they can access congressional support for SBA loans, passport processing, and veterans’ matters. Kelly’s staff has successfully helped several struggling small businesses access Economic Injury Disaster loans (EIDL), expedited returns owed from the Internal Revenue Service, and secured backlogged benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Social Security Administration.
In September, Daniel Murrillo reached out to Kelly’s office after having a hard time connecting with his SBA representative. After waiting on his disaster loan since April, Kelly’s staff escalated the issue and Mr. Murillo was able to get items submitted and work with an SBA contact.
“Senator Kelly’s office was the reason I was finally approved for my loan. After four months of zero information, I contacted Kelly’s team. Within 60 days I was both put in contact with someone at SBA and approved and funded. His team would always take my calls and it was obvious they cared about getting results. Thank you so much!” – Daniel Murillo, a business owner in Glendale, AZ
Tommi Pryor, the owner of a marketing firm in Chandler reached out to Kelly’s staff regarding a PPP issue, but in August she faced obstacles with her disaster loan. That’s when she reached out to Kelly’s staff again, and after they began working on the case, she was able to get approved for the loan that saved her business.
“I reached out to Senator Kelly’s office for help with a stalled disaster relief business loan. My request was met with empathy and urgency. The actions taken by the Senator’s office got the job done when no one else could! Senator Kelly and team genuinely care about both his constituents and Arizona’s small businesses.” – Tommi Pryor, owner of American Information Marketing, Chandler, AZ
