Sen. Kelly Statement on Supreme Court Nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson

Today, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, a 25-year Navy veteran, issued the following statement regarding Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s nomination to the United States Supreme Court:

“Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson in my Washington, D.C. office. From our conversation, it is clear that Judge Jackson has not only achieved incredible success throughout her legal career in both public and private sectors, but she has also demonstrated a commitment to ensuring that all Americans, including those who cannot afford legal representation, have a fair shot at justice,” said Senator Kelly.  

“I take my constitutional duties seriously and that includes carefully considering nominees for lifetime appointments. After speaking with Judge Jackson and reviewing her record and approach to deciding cases, I believe her to be very well qualified and having demonstrated a commitment to fairly interpret and uphold the Constitution on our nation’s highest court. I look forward to voting to confirm Judge Jackson to serve on the Supreme Court,” concluded Kelly.
