Over $14 Million Investment Coming to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport from Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

Infrastructure Investment and Jobs law led by Sinema and shaped by Kelly provides investments for the terminal modernization and expansion at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport

$14,400,000 will be invested in Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport from the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs law led by Senator Kyrsten Sinema and shaped by Senator Mark Kelly.

The $14.4 million investment will support Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport’s terminal modernization for 21,000 square feet expansion and upgrades to replace a temporary 4-gate facility with a permanent 5-gate ADA-compliant facility.

“Thanks to our Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, this investment will support the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport’s efforts to improve safety and boost capacity at a time of growing demand for air travel in our state and across the country,” said Senator Kelly.

“We’re proud our infrastructure law makes these historic investments strengthening safety and modernizing Arizona’s airports. Today’s investments for Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport will support terminal upgrades and expansion for a permanent 5-gate ADA-compliant facility,” said Sinema, who toured the airport earlier this year and was briefed on the plans for the expansion project by airport executives.

Sinema and Kelly’s bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs law includes $25 billion in additional investments for aviation infrastructure. The bipartisan law provides $15 billion in priority projects at every airport in the United States, $5 billion in competitive grants for terminal development and other landslide projects, and $5 billion in grants for strengthening Air Traffic Control towers and infrastructure.

Arizona airports are expected to receive a total of at least $360 million in additional federal support over the next five years from the bipartisan infrastructure law.
