Kelly, Sinema: Fresh Start Women’s Foundation Awarded Over $500K to Expand Job Opportunities for Arizona Women
Arizona Senators Mark Kelly and Kyrsten Sinema announced that the U.S. Department of Labor awarded the Fresh Start Women’s Foundation in Phoenix $542,358 to expand job opportunities for Arizona women in apprenticeships and nontraditional occupations.
“These grants will continue the Fresh Start Women’s Foundation’s important work to create more pathways for Arizona women to access good-paying jobs to support themselves and their families,” said Senator Kelly.
“Fresh Start Women’s Foundation works to empower Arizona women through education, workshops, and mentorships to fuel their personal and professional growth and help them achieve their goals. Today’s grant will continue supporting that mission,” said Sinema.
Based in Phoenix, the Fresh Start Women’s Foundation provides tools, resources, and education to support women in strengthening their personal, professional, and financial empowerment and achieve self-sufficiency. This grant, awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor, supports women’s participation in underrepresented fields, such as finance, technology, construction, manufacturing, and energy and transportation. A portion of the grants will provide support services such as childcare, transportation, tuition, and work-related gear.
