Senator Kelly Stands up Against Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s Tariffs and Attacks on Essential Services

Today, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly announced he is standing up against Elon Musk and President Donald Trump’s attacks on Social Security, VA Care, and education by opposing the partisan funding bill before the Senate: 

“From VA care for veterans to Social Security for seniors to the National Park Service, Elon Musk and President Trump are blowing up parts of the United States Government that benefit American citizens every single day. 

“I took an oath to protect the constitution. I cannot vote for the Republican plan to give unchecked power to Donald Trump and Elon Musk. I cannot give permission for inflation-causing tariffs and firing thousands of veterans, things that are already having devastating effects on Arizonans and Americans. 

“This might be a tough decision but that’s what this job is about. I told Arizonans I’d stand up when it was right for our state and our country, and this is one of those moments. 

“If Republicans in Congress are willing to do away with their ‘my way or the highway’ approach, we can work together to responsibly and efficiently fund the government and move our country forward.”
