Kelly Statement on Congress Passing Temporary Measure to Avert a Government Shutdown

Arizona Senator Mark Kelly released the following statement today after Congress voted to pass a Continuing Resolution to fund the government through early March—the third short-term funding bill passed since September:

“I’m relieved Congress averted a government shutdown that would have been disastrous for Arizonans and our country. But let’s be clear: this is the bare minimum,” said Kelly. “Once again, Congress failed to reach a long-term agreement. It’s well past time for Democrats and Republicans to come together to fully fund the government, address the crisis at our border, and strengthen our national security.”
