Sen. Kelly Joins Bipartisan Congressional Delegation to Munich Security Conference
U.S. Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, is joining Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), and other colleagues on a bicameral congressional delegation to this weekend’s Munich Security Conference (MSC).
The MSC is widely considered the world’s leading forum for international security policy. The conference is a “marketplace of ideas” where initiatives and solutions are developed and opinions are exchanged. It also provides a venue for diplomatic initiatives and ideas to cooperatively address the world’s most pressing security concerns. The conference brings together nearly five hundred high-level decision makers and leaders from around the world – including heads of state, ministers, leaders of international organizations and non-governmental organizations, as well as leaders from business, media, research and civil society.
The trip is still called “CODEL McCain” in honor of former Senator John McCain (R-AZ), who often served as the leader of the American congressional delegation at this prestigious international conference.
