Senator Kelly says Congress a Step Closer to boosting American Microchip Manufacturing

Today, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly praised the progress made on the United States Innovation and Competition Act after an agreement was reached for the Senate and House to go to conference to finalize the legislation, which the Senate passed in June with the $52 billion microchip manufacturing boost secured by Kelly. Kelly has been speaking with fellow Senators and House leaders this week pushing to pursue every option to get the legislation signed into law.

“As I said earlier this week, this legislation is critical to our economy and our national security, and needs to get signed into law as soon as possible. After this bill sat idle in the House for six months, this agreement is significant progress. We are now a step closer to boosting American microchip manufacturing, creating thousands of high-paying jobs, and addressing the microchip shortage to improve supply chains and lower costs.”
