Senator Kelly’s Office Helps Secure Critical PPP Loan for The School of Architecture in Arcosanti, AZ
Today, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly announced the successful application of a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan for The School of Architecture, an apprenticeship program with deep roots in Arizona established by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
In January, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the school applied for a PPP loan, but faced several obstacles. After the school reached out to Kelly’s Senate office for assistance, Kelly’s team stepped in and helped cut through the red tape to connect the school to a community partner bank, which secured approval of the loan.
“The Paycheck Protection Program has been a lifeline for many of Arizona’s small businesses and beloved institutions during the pandemic,” said Senator Kelly. “I am proud that my office was able to step in and help cut through the red tape so that the school of architecture could keep its doors open in Arizona.”
“The students and staff of The School of Architecture founded by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1932 express their sincerest appreciation to Senator Kelly and his staff for their tremendous support and commitment to our historic school during this incredibly difficult period,” said The School of Architecture President Chris Lasch. “Their efforts have ensured that the legacy of one of this country’s greatest architects will continue so future generations of architects can be educated to serve our diverse communities by making our environment more sustainable, open to all and beautiful.”
