Senator Kelly Continues Work to Get COVID-19 Relief to Arizona

Kelly helped lead bipartisan improvements as COVID-19 bill advances

Last night and into this morning, Senator Kelly supported bipartisan improvements to the COVID-19 relief bill that would create dedicated funding to help independent restaurants stay afloat, ensure Arizona’s rural hospitals get their fair share of support as they treat patients, and allocate resources to increase public awareness about the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccine. The senate also passed a Kelly-sponsored amendment to ensure that direct relief gets to those who need it most with broad bipartisan support.

Early this morning, Kelly voted to advance the budget resolution that moves COVID-19 relief legislation that will provide another round of direct payments to most individuals, resources for vaccine distribution, and additional support for small businesses, schools, and local and tribal governments one step closer to becoming law.

“Getting additional support to Arizona during this pandemic is my top priority so that we can improve vaccine distribution, keep small businesses afloat, provide direct relief to families who need it most, and get resources to schools to reopen safely. I am going to continue working with Republicans and Democrats to find common ground to beat this virus and rebuild our economy.” – Senator Kelly
